This stotra is the cause of the redemption from troubles. There is no doubt that one who just reads it during all the sandhyas or just in one sandhya is liberated from difficulties either in this world, in heaven or even in the nether world. He who always reads with devotion all the verses or only one verse overcomes his bad deeds and attains final redemption. O Chief of gods, what is not attained by reading this on earth.

Notes: इदम् This स्तोत्रम् stotra मया by me प्रोक्तम् has been said आपद्-उद्धार-हेतुकम् the cause of redemption from troubles त्रिसन्ध्यम् during all the sandhis एक-सन्ध्याम् in one sandhi वा or पठनात् by reading एव just (by) सङ्कटात् from difficulties मुच्यते is liberated न not अत्र here सन्देहः doubt भुवि on the earth स्वर्गे or in heaven रसातले or in the nether world समस्त-श्लोकम् all shlock’s एकं one वा or यः who पठेत् reads भक्तितः with devotion सदा always सः he सर्वदुष्कृतम् all bad deeds तीर्त्वा crosses प्राप्नोति attains परमाम् गतिम् final redemption पठनात् by reading अस्य this देवेशि O the chief of gods किम् what न not सिध्यति attained भूतले on earth

End note

  • There are many alternate readings of this stotra. The reading used here is the the one given in स्तवनाञ्जलिः, 3rd edition, published by Ramakrishna Math, Nagpur, India except in verse 9 where a slight different reading is used. In verse 9 दस्युभिस्त्रासितानां instead of दस्युभिरावृतानां (used in स्तवनाञ्जलिः)is used as the latter violates the छन्दः.
  • The first eight verses are in भुजङ्गप्रयातं छन्दः. The ninth verse is in मालिनीछन्दः and the last three are in अनुष्टुभ्छन्दः.
